After shooting three weddings in the past four days (and five in the past two weeks!) I can tell you good people one thing for certain...IT'S HOT OUT THERE! LOL

Despite the heat yours truly will be working feverishly for the next two weeks to get everyone's photos, albums, prints, etc out to them so that I can be totally unfettered when I roll out of here for a much needed vacation in July! So where, you ask, would Amir plan to go to beat the heat this year and let his mind and poor old body heal up from the wear and tear of summertime photography? Yep, you guessed it - Alaska! :)

We'll be hopping aboard Holland America's Oosterdam and floating around from Seattle to Alaska and back. This will be our first trip to Alaska and I've always wanted to go so it should be lots of fun. To be honest I am sure I'll need to go back again one day when I can take a photography based trip and just enjoy shooting the wildlife and landscape - this trip being mostly a family outing I doubt I will really be able to explore things the way I would like to for my photographic enjoyment...but lest you fret fearless readers, there will most certainly be plenty of fun photos to behold upon my return! You know there are few places I go without a camera in hand...

There are some things in life that just make you smile...

I won't go and get all long-winded here but I just want to share a few photos from this beautiful couple and their vow renewal after 40 years of marriage, committment and love!

Those of you who are faithful readers may recognize Stan and Pat as the parents of Kristina, who's wedding to Chris just took place a few months back and was featured here also. They were kind enough to invite me out to share this special occasion with their family and take a few snaps of the events as they unfolded.

But enough about that - let's say it again ya'll: F-O-U-R-T-Y  Y-E-A-R-S can you dig it?

If you've ever wondered what happens when you mix one DJ, a great live band, delicious food, wonderful people and a little alcohol I can now tell you firsthand - you get one heckuva party!

Lindsay and Freddy, having already said their 'I do's' during a previous moment in time, asked me to photograph the celebration of their nuptials and I gladly accepted the honor. We all arrived at the hotel ballroom on an overcast, drizzly day which belied the fireworks about to take place inside - let's just say once the music started there was barely an empty spot on the dance floor the whole night!

Anyone who's ever tried to photograph a wedding will tell you it's not an easy task, but this was great; it's like someone just turned me loose with my camera for 5 or 6 hours right in the middle of a big party! What could be better?

Let me just give a shameless plug while im at it: if you ever find yourself in Chantilly, VA stop by their family restaurant, the Backyard Grill & Bar, for a bite or a beer and if you happen to run into Freddy or Lindsay tell them what you think of these photos
